I've been working as a journalist for more than 20 years now and have been lucky to interview a wide cross-section of people during that time. These range from the great, good, rich and famous to the ordinary man in the street with an extraordinary tale to tell. In 2007 I interviewed the last Governor of Hong Kong, Chris Patten, (to give him his full title, the Rt Hon Lord Patten of Barnes), Bodley's Librarian Sarah Thomas, chef-restaurateur Raymond Blanc and author Colin Dexter, among many others. In 2008 I have the Queen's racehorse trainer Nicky Henderson, composer Howard Goodall, chef Sophie Grigson and Olympic gold medallist Matthew Pinsent in my sightlines - watch my website for the results.
I started my life in journalism at the Eastern Daily Press and the Evening News after completing an NCTJ course at Harlow College. In the intervening 22 years, besides the in-depth interviews, I've written news stories, features, restaurant and holiday reviews and worked in PR - I've also produced three children!
I was editor of the prestigious Eastern Daily Press Norfolk magazine for two years before moving to the Oxfordshire-Buckinghamshire border where I now work as a freelance journalist. You can keep up-to-date with my work by visiting my website regularly.
